Geiger Engineers' staff began working together at Geiger Associates, founded by the late David Geiger in 1968 to engineer the enclosure for the United States pavillion for EXPO’70 in Osaka, Japan. For that project David Geiger invented the low profile cable restrained air-supported roof employing a super-elliptical perimeter compression ring. Within 15 years of its completion this membrane structural system was employed to cover more than half domed stadia in the world.
