2024 IASS Symposium in Zürich - Honorary Membership Awarded to David M. Campbell, P.E., P.Eng.

October 1, 2024

At the 2024 IASS Symposium in Zürich, David M. Campbell, Principal and former President of Geiger Engineers, was elected as an Honorary Member of the IASS, International Association for Shell and Spatial Structures. The IASS recognized David for his work with Geiger Engineers for over four decades of design of outstanding long-span and lightweight structures, especially for large spectator sports facilities.

David was a keynote lecturer at IASS 2024 in Zürich. The main thematic focus of IASS 2024 was the historic and ongoing intersection of technology with informed expression in structural design. The theme of the symposium, Redefining the Art of Structural Design, acknowledged the exemplary history of the IASS and new groundbreaking innovations in spatial structures in architecture and the built environment.

IASS, founded in 1959, is an association that gathers from around the world engineers, architects, builders and all others interested in lightweight structural systems such as lattice, tension, membrane, and shell structures, and more broadly interested in the creative integration of structural engineering and architecture. It is focused on advancing design, engineering, materials and methods.
