Centerhung LED Scoreboard, Golden1Center

Sacramento, California — 2016
Geiger Engineers designed the structural aluminum framing and support truss grid for the center hung LED scoreboard at the new Golden 1 Center, home of the Sacramento Kings – it is the NBA’s first 4K Ultra HD LED centerhung scoreboard. The installation includes the largest screens in the NBA with the LED panels alone weighing almost 40,000 lb. Eight lightweight aluminum frames hold the LED panels for the three different layouts that make up the overall scoreboard. The aluminum frames hang from the support truss grid which is surrounded by an LED header board. Cables pull the bottom of each aluminum frame in towards the center creating the final angled configurations. The support truss grid is suspended on four cables leading to two winches allowing the entire assembly to be lowered for maintenance. The entire installation of LED scoreboard and header board plus support truss grid weighs approximately 84,000 lbs.
