Geiger Engineers was engaged to design a replacement long-span roof for the Littlejohn Coliseum as part of its renovation. Geiger developed a new truss structure utilizing the original roof layout of 300 x 300 ft (90 m x 90 m). The new roof is designed to allow rigging for entertainment events. In addition, the existing lateral force resisting system was stiffened to meet current seismic requirements. The new roof was designed and built in three months.
